TESTIMONIALS
"As you are reading this, you may be wondering if music lessons with Stu would be a good idea. If you’re wondering, then that means you are ready to learn that they are so worth it and the results will likely exceed your expectations. In his teaching, Stu draws on his expertise as an accomplished professional musician, but more importantly he is infinitely patient and has a real talent to help students enjoy their learning journey. My three children have a combined 9+ years’ worth of lessons with Stu and they thoroughly enjoy those hours. So far, one of them has sat a formal music examination and achieved an outstanding result. I am in awe whenever I see them playing the guitar, amazed at what their little fingers can do and thinking this is possible because of a great development of their brains as a result of the lessons. Also, the lessons have been different for all of the three children because Stu is brilliant at personalising the teaching, meeting students where they are and helping them grow. You just can’t get that from a book or a pre-recorded lesson on the internet. Just book the lessons with Stu (I would go for the 60 min ones if available), invest effort in your learning (no teacher will practise on your behalf) and get ready to be amazed!"

Stuart is a very personal and understanding guitar teacher who is excellent at what he does in both the teaching and playing elements. He helped me achieve a distinction in Grade 8 which speaks for itself but more importantly he has allowed me to become a much better, more well rounded guitarist.

I have been having lessons with Stu for the past two years after seeing his band play live and being really impressed. Stu has worked with me to improve my playing and theory knowledge and has always been able to find a way of getting information across in a way that makes sense, no matter how complicated (or stupid!) the question I have posed to him. He is always punctual and enthusiastic and able to adapt quickly to any song or style that I throw at him. I would (and have) recommend him to anyone interested in taking lessons, no matter what level they are currently playing at.

Stuart has been my teacher for three years. He started me off from scratch as, at the age of 60, I had no musical skills whatsoever. He gives clear instruction and is a very gentle and patient teacher which has resulted in me now being able to play classical and blues guitar, as far as my modest abilities will allow, to a level which brings deep personal satisfaction (to me at least, if not to him!). I highly recommend Stuart as a guitar teacher for mature learners. I understand that he was also very successful when teaching children in local schools.

Stuart has given tuition to our son now for over six years, in that time we have always been happy with his lessons. My son looks forward to him coming, we have found Stuart to be both patient, caring, very professional and competent, with a good sense of humour too! Yes I would recommend him for sure.
